What does Beacon do?
A physical object that turns selected apps off when you are near it. Walk away and they come back.
Why not a scan?
A scan is a gesture you can skip. Beacon uses Bluetooth Low Energy proximity. The block is on when you are close. You do not scan.
How does it connect?
Bluetooth Low Energy to the Tunnelvision app.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. BLE needs power. Hardware details come later.
iPhone or Android?
The app is required. Platforms are not locked yet.
Can I buy one?
What if I leave it behind?
The block follows proximity. Away from the Beacon, the apps come back.
How is this different from Screen Time or Digital Wellbeing?
Those limits live on the same phone you are trying to put down. Dismiss, ignore, extend. Beacon is a place. Close means the apps you chose are gone.
How is this different from a disc you scan?
A disc you scan still asks you to act. You can skip the tap. Beacon does not wait for a gesture.
How is this different from a lock I turn on?
A lock you trigger is a lock you can undo. Beacon is on when you are close.
Can I choose which apps are blocked?
Yes. You build a preset in the app. The Beacon only triggers it.
What if I lose it?
An emergency unlock is planned. It is not shipped. Away from the Beacon, the apps come back on their own.
Is there a subscription?
We are not claiming one. Beacon is not for sale yet.
