Why a physical object
No app living on your phone was ever going to fix your phone. The switch has to live somewhere else.
The switch is in the wrong place
Every limit that lives on the phone can be undone on the phone, by the same person, in the same weak moment. That is not a flaw in your character. That is where the off switch was put.
An object has a room
A weighted thing on a desk is a decision you already made. You do not argue with it the way you argue with a banner. You walk toward it or you walk away.
Why proximity, not a scan
A scan is still a gesture. Gestures can be skipped. Proximity is just where you are. Walk up and the apps you chose go. Walk away and they come back. The friction is leaving the room, not remembering to tap steel.
Why this sits next to the shop
Beacon is a Tunnelvision product, not a second brand. The shop is clothes. Beacon is the object the clothes are about. Same mark. Same site.
Cut the Noise.
Beacon is being built.
